My 3 free months of HD HBO, STARZ, SHOWTIME AND CINEMAX have ended on direct tv.

I will keep HBO for sure but I want to add one more. Out of starz, showtime and cinemax i am not sure which one shows more movies. I am thinking cinemax but id like some input before i do this.

Dump HBO. Get Starz and Showtime.

Have you visited the websites and looked at the list of movies each offers? I can't think of a better way to answer your own question.

Easy. Starz for HD movies, and Showtime for what is currently the best HD premium programming available: Dexter, Brotherhood, Weeds, The Tudors, etc.

if its movies your after keep starz, showtime has more series and special events including boxing, cinemax shows lots of hbo stuff so your kind of doubling up there if you keep hbo.

And Cinemax is rarely OAR - when a 2.35:1 movie IS OAR, then the audio is almost always 2.0 instead of 5.1.

I'd also suggest Starz for more movies.

Don't you mean Skinemax? Almost every night - - leave that stuff on the 'speciality' channels, and show us some decent movies in HD!

Agreed - Starz is better.

Showtime shouldn't even be on a list for movies. Their current catalog is barely blockbuster material and with their studio deals drying up (Paramount ended last year, MGM and Lionsgate end this year) by the end of the year the only film source they'll have is CBS movies.

If you get HBO you don't really need Cinemax. If you don't get HBO I'd pick Cinemax over Starz, but only by a very slim margin. I can't get HD of either of those so I canceled both and chose Netflix. :)

I agree. The only reason I have showtime is because it comes with my package.

HBO and Starz is the best choice for a 2 Premium deal.
