Anyone able to hook me up with a link or info on how to use DVE on HD DVD.

I LOVE Home Theatre, but am a total newbie when it comes to this calibration nonsense... and I don't wanna pay for ICF because it's damn expensive and can't afford it right now. I tried searching around on here for info, but everything seems to be for the enthusiest/pro. I don't understand most the info.

I work on PC's for a living, so I'm not lame when it comes to tech, but would appriciate an easier explination. Example:

And so on... just plainly inform me of how and why...

To answer your question, I thought that the disc had a demonstration like AVIA, where they talk you through what to look for and such...

If not, then start searching the threads here, because you would do much better learning why your making said adjustments then what someone can just quickly convey.

You should clarify which 'DVE' HD DVD you have. Is it 'DVE: HD Basics' or the SD/HD DVD combo disc? They have major differences. Please be specific, so we can help you. It sounds like you just want to adjust the basic picture adjustments available to the average user, rather than delving into gray scale calibration.

Sorry, but the DVE HD BASICS disk I have"2008" walks you through each process. It is not an end unto iteslf. I adjusted contrast but HD HQV Benchmark, quality assessment tool should be used first to determine if your player is up to snuff. Also DVE is a little behind as it's only 6.1, but if your surround back is center back it's fine. If it's your only adjustment disk, then work it.
