cable box. The cable company scrambles these channels.

so do i use a cable card?

I don't think you can run any HD channels not in the clear OTA through Media Center. If there is a way to pass your cable box through, I just haven't ever seen it duscussed I guess.

The cable co would rather you buy thier DVR box and service. :(

the main cable line is split between the 8300hd box and the HP M9040N PC..i can get my local channels without a problem with the PC, but when i open the guide button and see other stations like speedvision or hbo it just comes up as fuzz!
