OK, I don't say much around here: I'm very busy, but I just started playing Apocalypse Now on my recently purchased OPPO 980 and I am really impressed. The picture is better than by Panny S97, and the sound is amazing.

reason i asked is cuz i have the pan s77, 'sister' player of s97, and would like to find an affordable improvement over s77-which i am actually very satisfied with. i also have a toshiba hd-a30 which is a great sd dvd player.
the new 983 is a bit pricey for me right now.

really.......... i would love to try it.
