Does anyone know if the samsung 5084 does hdmi 1.3?

Also what about the Onkyo 705?

I have these devices - can they do 1.3? If so can you tell a difference between 1.2 and 1.3?

yes the fp-t5084 is 1.3 hdmi.

The 705 is also hdmi 1.3

The major things are

Deep Color
and accepting a bitstream signal to decode the True HD and DTS HD codec..

That is basically the major difference..

As far as I know nothing actually uses Deep Color, and even if it did it's pretty questionable whether today's sets would benefit from it. They have enough trouble showing standard 8 bpp color without banding.

Yeah I know.. It is being pushed but nothing uses it.. Not even important far as I can see.. Color can only be so good since our eyes do become limited in distinguishing millions of colors..
