Four/Five parties, lots of people. Very inexpensive high popularity treat! :D Cameron 05-27-08, 07:16 PM It would have been more interesting if you had eaten it all yourself. I wouldn't bother to cook up a batch for a single, the cleaning is too much for one batch. I'd just do microwave Cameron 05-27-08, 11:02 PM Jeff? Cameron 06-09-08, 08:57 PM Yeah where are the best deals these days. I need to pick up a bunch and get my machine going. I went through all of this effort to put in a vent hood for it and haven't fired it up yet due to the lack of popcorn. :) I have been busy doing other stuff as well. MidLife 06-09-08, 09:21 PM I use snappypopcorn.com and ht-accessories.com online for supplies...:) By FAR the favorite is Glaze Pop. Now, I tried something different this past weekend. I cooked the Glaze Pop in a pot on the stove and slowly brought to a boil with some Corn Syrup........ooooh wee! Carmel Corn Heaven!!!!!!!! I coooked the mixture on the stsove and then poured over popcorn in a paper bag and shook it all up as in Grandma recipe....:D Gone in ten.......:p Cameron 06-09-08, 10:03 PM Yeah I like that glaze pop stuff. We had a machine at work and when someone made a batch of that, the programmers would come in droves and it would be gone in 15 seconds. SPDSpappy 06-14-08, 11:19 AM Well, you guys made me so hungry that I had to go buy a popcorn machine and all the glaze-pop-goodness to go with it. Now I just don't know how I can wait until it all comes in... Cameron 06-14-08, 05:27 PM Congrats! The caramel flavored glaze stuff is really yummy! Now I just don't know how I can wait until it all comes in... Great news...(input) new machine + supplies = (output) tasty enjoyment. buggdog 06-20-08, 08:04 AM Id like to try this glaze pop stuff. Just a couple questions... 1. I am currently using Mega Pop Packs. DO I need to buy seperate popcorn kernals and coconut oil to mix myself or can I use the packs with the glaze pop? It would result in buttery glazed popcorn? 2. How hard is this stuff to clean off the machine? If you need special chemicals, what do you use to clean it easily? Thanks for any info!! SPDSpappy 06-20-08, 03:46 PM Well, my stuff is now in, woohoo!!! I'll be using my machine for the first time tonight. I think the glaze pop additions will be used later this weekend as I have to try the regular first... What kind of stuff did you choose? SPDSpappy 06-21-08, 04:16 PM I went w/ the Paragon Theater Pop 6 oz machine/cart, stainless scoop, small butter warmer, 85 oz tubs, and Glaze Pop combo kit, all from stargatecinema (thanks Ken!). I'm very pleased w/ my order/delivery! I did run the machine last night and LOVE it!!! I think the best part of it was the look of excitement on my 3 year old's face... buggdog 06-21-08, 05:20 PM So is it really difficult to clean? Also do you pop just white popcorn and glaze it or do you pop regular butter corn and glaze that?? Im confused on the ingredients for glaze popcorn. Thanks for any help. MidLife 06-21-08, 07:38 PM No real difference in cleaning. Popping corn is a steamy oily mess. The Glaze only adds a little more stickiness to the mess. The sugar is soluable in warm water, so, it's really the oil that is the most cleaning effort goes into. Usually you pour off most of the salt in the pre-packs. Caramel and Chocolate glaze can use the yellow coconut oil. White coconut oil is recommended for the other glazes. HTH :) PamW 06-21-08, 10:00 PM No real difference in cleaning. HTH :) Just to add to MidLife's post: Look at the bottom corner of your megapop paks - you'll see a dotted line to clip on the corner to dump the salt without much muss and fuss. Now, it's time for me to do a batch myself!;) buggdog 06-22-08, 08:08 AM Thank you MidLife and Pam for the info!! This glaze pop should add some new excitement to my popper!! MidLife 06-22-08, 09:59 PM I've researched it further. As far as "Caramel" Glaze pop goes, it is marketted as a "lite" coating. So, this is not caramel popcorn proper. And, from personal experience, this is true. Only about 50 percent (or less) of the corn gets coated in the glaze..so, this is really caramel "flavored" popcorn. For true "caramel" popcorn you would need to follow my recipe posted earlier or have some method to completely coat the popped corn in caramel glaze..which is a painstaking process...:( SPDSpappy 06-22-08, 10:33 PM No real difference in cleaning. PamW 06-23-08, 07:04 AM So, I need to buy a different coconut oil than is in the megapop packs (yellow I think) to enjoy all the glaze-pop goodness??? You can use the yellow coconut oil in the caramel - those colors go together. For the rest, you can get Mega Pop with the white coconut oil. It's a little more expensive, but the results will be worth it. On the Gold Medal site, it calls them "Glaze Pop Corn/Oil Kits". Too cool......a 6 oz. machine is a nice size. You are going to turn your family, and more specifically you and your 3 year old, into popcorn fiends. Yeah...I'd say that is a good thing. MidLife 06-27-08, 10:49 PM I just ran accross "Glaze Pop" popcorn. I used to use Country Harvest and pour off the salt and make Caramel Glaze Pop popcorn. Has anybody tried http://www.ht-accessories.com/Glaze-Pop-Popcorn-CornOil-Portion-Packs-36--6oz-24--8oz-packs-per-case_p_12-364.html the Glaze Pop from Gold Medal? It kinda looks gross, but, do you guys make the other flavours? Mark F 06-28-08, 06:38 AM I just ran accross "Glaze Pop" popcorn. SPDSpappy 06-29-08, 09:33 AM I just tried that for the first time last night myself! I think it was good, but I needed to put more in... I filled a 1/3 cup measuring cup about 1/2 full and probably should have used the full 1/3 cup for my 6 oz machine. At least I know for next time. |
