hi, i have a sharp 64u aquos and it dosent come with a cablecard slot. i know that the cablecard slot is just a pcmcia slot so i was wondering if anyone out there has tried or knows if inserting a cablecard into a pcmcia reader and plugging that into the usb slot of the tv will work?

No, besides needing to be decrypted the signal also needs to be passed to a QAM tuner to get the video signal. Now that I think about it the signal must go through the QAM tuner first then be decrypted by the cablecard then through MPEG2 decoder before being able to be displayed.
