Costco is currently running a sale on the Metropolitan 6 oz popper with the stand here. (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11120308&search=102694&Mo=0&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search&lang=en-US&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Sp=S&N=5000043&whse=BC&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ne=4000000&D=102694&Ntt=102694&No=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1) It is sold by other reputable dealers on AVS and looks to be a pretty good deal.

Does anyone have any experience with this machine?

I've had it for just over 1 year and love it.

I've had it for a year as well with no major problems.

However, the stand has wheels and 2 of them have popped their rivets and broken off. I took off all of the wheels now and it sits flat on the floor.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and ordered it. I like the fact the graphics are on the back so it can go up against the wall and I wanted something in black. I ordered a case of funpop and some carmel glaze from the SG powerbuy in anticipation last week so the sale came at the right time. Now it's just the waiting...

Exact same setup I have and I am very happy with it.

I have had it for a little over a year as well and have been happy with it. As dhardy said, don't expect to keep wheels on it because it won't work. I've gone through 8 wheels and just stopped after that. The first set of 4 popped off after a week or so, so we called up Roman and we talked to the makers of the machine and they sent me a new bottom piece that holds the wheels. Second one popped off pretty much within a couple of days after putting them on there. I guess it is bad welds that hold the wheel to the base, but it is kind of disheartening. Had carpet and then changed to hardwood floors so my wheeled stuff could move easier, but the second set snapped on the hardwood, so no luck there.

Popper has had some issues regarding the bolts not staying seated/not long enough causing a loud screeching noise whenever the machine is on. I end up having to take the top off and retighten the bolts every couple of months. Called makers of the machine regarding this issue and they didn't really have a fix for it. Their mounting screws are just too small and don't hold it in place, I replaced them with larger screws, but have the same issue.

Overall I'm happy with it, even if it doesn't sound so from my review. The wheels are worthless, so don't count on those, and you may have to do something about the bolts holding the kettle like I did.

Thanks vili for the detailed review. It'll help knowing what to keep an eye on. I decided just to leave the wheels off. I recieved the machine today. Very quick shipping.

So far, one of the hinges for the door on the base was damaged and I'm short a couple of screws. Also, I'm missing the metal tray that sits below the glass doors. I'll have to call customer service tomorrow. I won't have a chance to use it for a couple of days but everything seems to be working and it looks good. Hopefully their customer service is helpful and sends me the missing/damaged pieces.

I called today. They were cool about it and are sending the pieces out.
