I want to transfer files/shows from DVD-RAM to DVD (+.-) and keep the "native format" of the recorded shows. I am finally getting a DVD burner for my computer that reads the DVD-RAM, so I should have a shot at this!

Now I hear hints that some have accomplished this, but in my searching, I don't see details. Anyone know if it can be done, and how to make the transfer?

Thanks

Your dvd burner should come with a dvd authoring software program that is compatible with the DVD_RTAV file format (that RAM files are made of). As long as it's not Roxio/Sonic, you'll be fine. Sonic's MyDVD software program that came bundled on my pc, sucks.

All you need do is place your RAM disc in the drive, and copy it to a folder on the drive. Then open the authoring software program, and select that folder to open as a project. Edit away. Make menus, and burn.
I purchased a program called TMPG DVD Author that handles RAM content wonderfully. It's pricy, but well worth it if you have a RAM based recorder. Google it, and try out their trial version after your new burner's installed.
