I have been looking at some entry level seating for a basement entertainment room.

Has anyone looked at or sat in the "Producer" ("Roland") and "Studio"?

Anyone know what the main difference is between these seats?

While not identical, they have a similar style. Same thing with the "Showtime" and "Usher", not the same but similar style?

All of these seats are made overseas and imported and distributed here in the states.

The Studio in the photo at the bottom is made by Coaster and carries a one-year warranty. The Usher is a slightly smaller version of the Coaster made by another manufacturer.

The Producer/Roland and Usher that you see are made by another manufacturer that are basically copies of the Coaster seats and carry no warranty. So it's a good idea to add a good third-party warranty if you purchase those seats.

Construction, leather is similar and both use Legget & Platt reclining mechanisms.

So, who is exactly the manufacturer of these clones?

I have the coaster ones. They have held up for 3 years now no problems. Very comfortable. I have six of those and 3 other of another model coaster. They get used a ton. I love them and they were a great value. They have survived two moves too. I did accidentally cut the leather on the back of one (about an inch cut) when we moved it last.

Actually they are holding up better than my layzboy couches that have built in recliners.

I have noted that the Usher requires slightly less depth for full recline (65") and this may be very useful in my situation. Anyone know of other seats with this lower depth requirement?

Can you go four seats wide on any of these models?

I'm not sure what exact model I have, but you could do 4 wide with mine. you just get one more of the inside seats. One thing of interest, with 3 together, the two sides angle in a bit towards the center. The back of our riser is sligthly curved to accomodate this.

Hey guys, I have no idea how much those cost. But, I got Mirage seating from Boston tables. Look and work great. appears that all prices went up $100. Free shipping continental. They will only drop off in front of your place, need a friend to lug em in.

$50 more got me 5-yr in-home warranty for all 8 seats, 2 rows of 4, so total IIRC was $3,049 shipped w/ 5yr. I couldnt find better deals as used on eay or craigs.

The seat and back are leather. The armrests, and outsides are fake leather, IIRC. I can barely tell. guests never notice. They're stoked really.... :D

Ive heard of some people getting great deals directly thru AVS now and then as well. GL all. Im never in this subforum, but PM if you want to ask something. I know little about the selection out there, however.
