Hello Everyone!!! :)
A quick survey of your much more opiniate-ooops!
knowledgeable views and opinions than mine on these little babies:
Ebay item #: 250252645501
My meager setup increasingly needs an Hdmi switcher and while I understand (a little) the intricacies of hdmi discretionary signals, bandwidth partition and wavelength distribution equivalence, partitioned handshake distribution sensitivities and HDCP integrity maintenance flow, my gut (hA!), correction, wallet, tells me that lightspeed forward momentum in technology and its trickle down effect to consumer markets allows prices for these erstwhile expensive items to have come down henceforth madly.
Translation: my setup sucks compared to all of yours but I still need one of these suckers. I realize that a lot has to be designed correctly for one of these to work well (though in reality I haven't got the faintest clue  as to how and why and would fail the Zen master geek test-but YOU wouldn't!!!:D) and worry-free but I'm on welfare (disability actually; I'm a cripple; don't believe me just stick a knife in my leg and see how I don't scream but simply bleed) so if I can safely ;) buy one of these incredibly affordable items on Ebay I am saved for all time (OK, maybe not for ALL time, but a darn loooooooonnng time!)
So what's the verdict on these mass produced gadgets. Miracle or $-cow frauds?
PS: Just bought a used Toshiba HD-A3 for $55 and am planning to buy the new Oppo 983H, a Blue Ray Player and a Satellite & HD Receiver (to replace Rogers HDCable) in the next year. Right now I've got an Oppo DV-970HD, Sony DVPNS70H (the canuck one, which doesn't have the black bar issue of the yankee model so it's basically the 75H ;)) and a Rogers 4500 HD Explorer Set Top Box, all going into my dinosauric Sony KP51WS500 HDTV...so I'm gonna need one of these!
So what's the verdict ō tech gurus and sub-master geniuses?
Thanks in advance for your help! :)
PSS: Sorry I can't post the link to the HDMI Switcher in question but I can't post links yet, but all you have to do is got to Advanced Search on Ebay and enter the Item Number I posted above at start of post (here it is again: 250252645501). Enter that # into where it says "Enter Keyword or Item Number" , and voilą! - Thx!)
