Hey guys, I rented RAMBO (the one that just came out) on DVD Tuesday and my Denon DVD-3930CI doesn't play it. As soon as I insert the DVD, I get awful grinding. I returned it to Blockbuster and got another one... same issue. Tried both copies on my PC and they had the same problem. Has anyone gotten these to play or did Lionsgate F*up? Even AnyDVD couldn't read these.

Thanks. That let me at least rip it and re-burn it. It still grinded some gears on the PC drive, but at least it didn't on my Denon DVD player :). What a PITA, first time I ever ran into a DVD that wouldn't play on a legit (non-rogue manufacturer) standalone player . Can't believe they would release a DVD that doesn't play. I'm not much for ripping DVDs because of the hassle, and this reminded me why :).

As is always the case, DRM only inconveniences the legitimate purchasers of the movie. :(
DVDFab Platinum had no trouble with the new Rambo DVD.

My old Zenith DV318 plays it just fine.

No trouble playing it here, and AnyDVD handled it just fine as well. This disc has a newer structural or bad sector protection that may very well cause some players to puke. Players are supposed to ignore the errors generated by these protections, but not all of them do.
