What flat panel has Picture in Picture and/or Split screens? Looking for 50+
The hard part of the pip/split screen is that can it be done with 2 hdmi's or 1 hdmi/1 component. I know a few models out there that has PiP, but the one of them has to be the rf/coax input.
thnx

I definitely know for a fact that Sony's higher-end Bravia models do this with both PIP and PAP features, and there are some of them in the 52" range, such as the V4100 and W4100. Other than that, you would probably have to go with an XBR6/7 to have that in a higher-end model, because the Z4100 will only go up to 46".
However, you'd be hard-pressed to find an LCD or plasma that will split up or display two digital sources at the same time, it's just not possible.

It is possible, but can you afford it?:D
Really Bob is correct, splitting the 50/50 between 2 digital sources is something that I have only seen off of a fairly expensive PC setup. I have a buddy that has his PC feeding 2 screens (a 42" LCD and a 26" LCD) and both of the screens are connected and content from one can be moved with the mouse from one to the other. He will have one DVD playing on the PC and watching it while a second DVD player will be feeding the second screen.

Believe you me, I own a TV that has a "Split Screen" option in my 32" JVC, and it is very limited as far as what sources you can split the screen with, and believe you me, the split screen ain't all that pretty looking. Also, sometimes the secondary source won't appear on the screen at all, like if I want to watch a TV show, and want to play my X360 at the same time, the TV show will display, but the X360 shows up as a gray screen in the second window. That's just how limited that Split Screen works.

Well I'd like to be able to watch dvd or computer while having hd tv. I know some of the older Pioneer sets (the ones with the media box) did it, but then I'd have to buy a 2-3 year old panel.

Split screen can be pretty impressive when the right connections are made. I have the 2 year old Mitsu LT37131 and I use split screen everytime I turn the TV on (PC on the left, HD cable on the right). One thing about most TVs with split screen is that you can't use 2 digital inputs with split screen, as someone stated. In my setup, I have to use DVI for my PC and component for my HD cable because DVI is digital. The HDMI inputs are deactivated..
On a large screen, you may not like how the screen is split up. I used the function on the Samsung LN52A750 and it looked pretty bad. The 2 screens side-by-side were only using half of the screen. I measured the diagonals of both side-by-side screens and they were both 27"! When I changed the aspect, it looked even worse because it stretched both screens vertically.

How does the Picture-and-Picture feature work on the newer Sony Bravia models is that considerably better split-screen than some other brands?

I tried the Sony KDL46W4100 yesterday and it works fairly well. Very similar to my Mitsu and better than the Samsungs IMO. It's somewhat hard to find as I could not find it under any of the settings menus in the XMB. You have to hit the Tools button and its under the option P&P...
