I have been reading a lot reviews on the Samsung 305T monitor. Cnet says it can play blu-ray movie on it and some review say it CANNOT play blu ray movie on it, what is the deal??? Is it HDCP compliance or not

my question is Can it play blu-ray movie over Dual DVI or not???

My setup

MacBookPro
8600GT 256mb HDCP compliance
External USB LG blu-ray burner and reader
running Windows XP pro, cyberLink PowerDVD 8

Thank you for answering this question

With a dual link DVI cable, YES, it is HDCP compatible.

Sorry to dig this up, but... the reviews I've seen (where the reviewer actually tested it) say it can't. Those reviews were from 2006-2007. The newer 305T+ (with HDPC) model only came out in 2009 (end of 2008) so it is quite possible Samsung added HDCP to later productions of the 305T model.

Which puts me in a bind. I can't find a 305T+ new here, I've had one on order for 4 months now. Some stores claim they can get one in a few days but ask outrageous prices.

Now I'm offered a really nice used 305T, purchased end of 2008. So, any chance those supported HDCP, or this was definitely a feature reserved for the 305T+?

Thanks for any quick response, it's a single unit, can't wait too long.

Thanks for the quick response, although I'm puzzled.

How do you connect a dual link DVI cable to a HDMI adapter? All HDMI to DVI cables I've seen are single link.

Are you playing your Bluray's via PC or via a Bluray player?

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! Looks good, pity they don't ship to Europe. I'll keep looking.

BTW, I read the Cnet review, several users complained their 305T blew up. Have you had need of Samsung's warranty service yet?
