I just moved into a new house here so I am going to have a small bonus room theater and not the basement theater I wanted. I had planned on putting the screen on the same wall as the window, due to the rooms odd shape.

Also I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could mount the projector because the cieling has HVAC tubing running through it, I really wanted to cieling mount if I can. I am just going to sound treat, paint and add a dark throw rug on the floor. Bonus is above the garage and the upstairs has its own HVAC. Please excuse the sub I havent gotten around to buying a set of speakers yet. I thought I could get a couple of recliners for the wife and I and put them on the 6.5 ft wall, and maybe a third one if I pick a slim chair.

Thanks

I know you said you wanted to ceiling mount but if the HVAC stuff is in the way, have you considered possibly shelf mounting on the back wall? Is there a closet on the wall coming in from the doorway into the room or is that just a solid wall?

There is no closet just an attic entrance (small door above). I am going to put the projector ontop of the shelves I have there, until I come up with a permanent solution, but I think I will have to shelf mount as well. Anyone have any ideas on how I could do the screen, should I try to make a false wall or a different way I can mount my screen, since I want a fixed. If we stay here a while I will be building an addition with a truely dedicated space but for the moment I gotta make due with what the wife wanted :).

What is the boxed space (a closet?) and it's dimensions in the dimension diagram?

How high are the side walls before they angle? And how wide is the flat area of the ceiling?

Any budget in mind... Are you a DIY'er? I see lots of potential for a nice space.

How about removing the closet (if it is indeed a closet) entirely? Or how about a little construction in the access area and use that space as a roll in/roll out av rack?

How about building some small ceiling soffits? They could hide cable runs such as speaker cabling to the front speakers and provide for hidden cabling to the pj. (The soffits could also be used for some low voltage lighting. Do you need additional throw room for your pj?) The pj could be hidden in the closet area if you do a small opening on the common wall.

If you want seating for three, check out condo sized couches. Or maybe two chairs and buy a couple of beanbag chairs as overflow seating.

That boxed space is a bath tub in the bathroom. The measurements are 66" from the floor to the angle, 42" of angle, and 63.5 inches of flat cieling. That 13.5 ft is from the wall to where the tub indention starts. There is actually a closet I may be able to use that is on the right side of the door as long as I can clear it with the wife that is an option, that may be a tough sell. I dont think the acess space would be worth using there is only about four ft of space and only a foot or so of that is more than three feet tall, it could be a viable option though. Hadnt thought to much about the budget so far, since the room is kind of a pain as far as equipment storage I wasnt really sure what it would end up costing. For speaker runs I was thinking about getting some of that false crown molding and just running through those but maybe a couple of soffits with recessed lighting wouldnt be so bad, I just need to figure out the screen and equipment placement first. I have a Sony AW15 which has a decent zoom on it so placement shouldnt be an issue.
