Hey all,

My situation is this, I currently have a 40" 1080p Sammy TV I'm looking to replace with a 'top of the line' 720p projector.

I was originally looking at the panny ax200u but then had thoughts that maybe im missing out on something im unable to find.

To my knowledge I don't suffer from rainbow effects so a dlp projector should be arlight.

The only stipulation I have is that it have x2 HDMI ports or at least one HDMI and 1 DVI as I plan to connect it to both my reciever (xobx, ps3, wii etc) and my computer.

I sit about 8-9 feet back from the screen, so I wouldn't mind some screen size suggestions as this is all new for me. My budget is about 1,500 or so (for the projector).

Thanks in advance, all suggestions are welcome keeping in mind the HDMI wishes.

You can get a hdmi switch from monoprice for next to nothing. Most people only run one hdmi cable to the projector. This is the one I went with:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=101&cp_id=10110&cs_id=1011002&p_id=4088&seq=1&format=2 They also have manual one for half the price. I like the convience of switching with a remote control.

The next issue is your throw distance and the screen size you want. You need to figure that out to see what projectors will work for your setup.

Have you seen the handy-dandy Projection Calculator (http://www.projectorcentral.com/Panasonic_Home-PT-AX200U-projection-calculator-pro.htm) at Projector Central?

If you are looking for top of the line 720p projectors less than $1,500 then you need to be looking for:

Marantz VP-12S4 (refurbs with warranty were going for less than your budget) You might wank to check with gagaliya. He might have one for sale.

Infocus 7210. There is a new one for sale under displays for sale on this site.

Sharp 12000MKII. There are two or three of these for sale under displays for sale.

All three of these projectors will beat anything else out there that is less than $1,500. Many will argue that they will beat any of the 1080P LCD projectors under $3,000.
