Although, if you don't mind spending a little more for piece of mind, I would. I've read too many posts about drop outs and such, caused by cheap cables. I spent the extra for a thick, CL2 rated HDMI cable. I have 4 or 5 of these (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=181-734). Never had one drop out or any cable related issue. Although there are many who bought the cheaper priced cables who can say the same. Just a gamble I didn't want to take.

Just saying, IMO all cables are not the same.

The plain 28 gauge should work. Assuming you don't have an overly long run.

I'm using a Monster Cable HDMI 400 cable. It works great and only cost me $1 plus $5 new on ebay.
