After I get the holes patched up from where the electrician had to run romex around my room, I want to prime the walls then start painting. I have all kinds of pencil markings on the walls from where I was taking measurements. Will the prime take that off or do I need to use something else before I prime?

thanks

Primer will cover it up.

use the original magic erasure... works with little pressure to remove pencil lead

Ditto on primer, and most likely you will have 2 coats of paint on top of primer.. I mark the crap outta my walls with pencil/pen/smashed finger blood... never shows after the fact.

As several stated, the primer will cover it. Rubbing alcohol (or pretty much any type of alcohol) will also remove pencil marks -- just in case you wanted to know.

Ditto the primer. Primer should easily cover the pencil marks. If you are super anal then the Magic Eraser is fantastic at removing these types of marks.

If you're looking to get rid of marks AFTER the theater is painted, use this:

You're local supermarket should have them and they work wonders.

For after - the Magic Eraser is amazing. It works.

My only concern with the eraser type cleaners is that they can affect the sheen of the paint. In my old house on eggshell white walls you could tell where I used the eraser in certain types of light. So yes they work, but do take care.

Yea, stripped the gloss right off a countertop, left us with a real clean dull spot that is still visible to this day.
