What's the "proper" way to set up/configure the Svideo and composite inputs on the PVR150 card in the Myth Backend setup?

I don't need to make scheduled recordings via Svideo or composite inputs (though that would be nice to have too)- I just want to be able to feed Svideo from a VHS deck for tape conversions to MPEG2 to make DVDs. I assume I would do this in the Watch TV mode in the frontend.

How would I change the record bitrate/resolution in the frontend when recording from VHS tapes?

I did some googling, but couldn't find a clear cut answer- besides, I have higher faith in the braintrust here. ;)

Why not mencoder?

Why not mencoder?

I want to use the Myth Front end to record via Svideo input like a set top device (DVR/PVR/VCR/DVD-RW) would behave, i.e. select the Svideo or composite input and press "Record" on the remote or keyboard.

There should be some way to switch inputs on the tv tuner card:

This (http://www.keyxl.com/aaa3626/343/MythTV-keyboard-shortcuts.htm) possibly outdated list says to use "C".

It may be possible, also, to set up different capture cards for each input and use "Y" (or "switch input" from the menu, rather) to cycle through them.

Note that I've tried neither.
