View Full Version : Team Fortress 2 lag issues
yakkosmurf 06-03-08, 03:29 PM I've been playing TF2 for several months now without an issue. Yesterday, I was getting really bad lag problems throughout the day. Did anyone else experience this? It seems to be running better today.
I was able to play GT5 and Rainbow 6 online without any problems, but everytime I came back to TF2, I had the lag issues. Internet speed also checked out just as fast as ever.
Thoughts? Am I the only one who had this issue?
Probably because the PS3 port of Orange Box is a rich blend of Fail and AIDS pressed onto Blu-Ray.
I had this problem too and I thought is was me. It must the EA's servers.
I love Team Fortress 2. Its the perfect causal game. Sometimes I take COD way to seriously.
Add me to your friends list, I'm play TF2 most nights. PSN: hughvh
yakkosmurf 06-03-08, 07:25 PM I'll add you when I log on. I had the same problem earlier this evening. You? What map do you play most?
Will-san 06-04-08, 12:28 AM It's been really bad latley and EA says they know nothing (http://www.teamfortress2fort.com/forums/t/YouhavetobekiddingmeReadthisreplyfromEA-12476.aspx).

As always, EA plays innocent. Best thing is to sell the game and forget about it. I did the same!
maximuslcd 06-04-08, 08:35 AM The TF2 on the 360 is pretty much unplayable online..thanks to EA....I'm not an EA hater but the games they put out and run their own servers usually suffer problems that NEVER get fixed....Battlefield modern combat for example..the chat hardly ever worked in this team based game and they never fixed it

I like Wells, but no one plays that map.
I had lag problems again last night, I hope I don't have to give up TF2. I may have to buy it from Valve...

I hope it gets fixed soon too. I've really enjoyed the game, and I don't have a PC worth playing it on. I haven't played the Wells map. I'll have to give it a shot.
obsid1an 06-04-08, 03:19 PM Plays great on my PC :)

TF2 actually plays very smoothly on the 360. The games are hosted by people, not servers. So unless the host has crap ass connection, the game runs pretty well.
Will-san 06-05-08, 12:14 AM I was having some serious lag issues and then moved to a wired connection and it ran flawlessly for weeks, turned out the lag was on my end. Recently though there have been some server problems. It's a great game though. I would by it for the PC (or mac with crossover...I stll might) but I prefer to play in the living room on the big TV.

EA didn't do the Orange Box to 360 port, Valve did. I too have heard of horrible lag on the 360 version but this is the first that I have heard it attributed to EA .
yakkosmurf 06-05-08, 03:03 PM It was running well last night, though. So, maybe it's all good now?
yakkosmurf 06-06-08, 05:06 PM Two nights in a row of solid play. I guess we're back up and running.
A little TF2 humor.
