Hey all, dumb audio question for the BH200:

I'm experiencing a lot of little audio "pops/crackles" through my speakers, when playing movies (ie, when it loads the menu, before a preview, when loading the movie itself from menu, etc).

I am using a very basic Pioneer 5.1 HTIB set-up, hooked up optically to the LG. I'm using an HDMI-to-DVI cable for picture. I thinking it has something to do with the audio coming through the HDMI also along with the optical, maybe?

I've never experienced any pops like this with my HD-A2 on all the same settings for the HTIB.

What should I be setting my "Audio" at if I'm using the above connections?

Set your optical audio out to DTS-Recode on the LG.

If the HDMI doesn't go to your Pioneer, I don't know how it can be causing a problem. But stranger things have happened, if it's having a problem on the HDMI out with the digital rights crap we are cursed with, it might cause a hiccup of some nature to occur.

Thanks MEC, should I leave the HDMI option at PCM Stereo? What about the sampling freq, leave at 48 or 96?

If your HDMI cable is only going to your TV and it only has Stereo speakers, yes leave it on PCM Stereo. I have mine setup that way and leave HDMI on PCM Stereo as that's all the TV speakers can handle anyway.

I get this too on certain BR titles (AVP:R is really bad and 30 Days of Night has issues too). I hope LG will keep supporting this player with firmware updates.

Mine is connected to an Onkyo 705 via HDMI, and audio is set to "pass through". When it works the sound is badass. I love TrueHD MA!

I've just started seeing this issue on every disc played on my bh200. it's not been moved, and I've just checked connections at both end and things seem fine :(
