View Full Version : Battlefield: Bad Company (new PS3 trailer) Rieper 06-03-08, 11:42 PM PS3 Gun and Run Multiplayer Gameplay HD Trailer (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/34789.html) rahzel 06-04-08, 05:25 AM the scale and amount of destructibility is far greater than CoD4. they will also most likely allow you to have more players in a server. not saying it will be better than CoD4, but BF2 is different. TyrantII 06-04-08, 08:34 AM Sometimes it's not all about "T4h PriZz4r GfX!"... That said, I haven't been following this game. reefbone 06-04-08, 09:51 AM I loved BF2 on PC and have looking forward to this game for 6 months. I think the only thing that sucks about this game is the way they are dolling out the weapons. I got bored of COD4 and haven't played much lately. I hope it goes over well. Tenkaipalm 06-04-08, 10:16 AM I played the 360 beta. It looked like BF2 with some graphical improvements. Gameplay is nearly the same, but with a few tweaks. The point-whoring medic and support classes are gone, both being combined with the engineer class. Reviving teammates is now gone, but enemy armor can be disabled with the engineer's power tool. There are attack helos but no fighter jets like BF2 (much to my personal dismay- bombing buildings to rubble would have been awesome), but the Helos have been toned down some from BF2. Transport helos were not in the beta. Nearly everything is destructible, and weak cover (like wooden doors and fences) can be shot through. I've always thought BF was better than CoD4 strictly from a gameplay standpoint- mostly due to the bigger scale and vehicles. The destructible environments are actually a great gameplay element, and the game is fun, if not mind-blowing. number1laing 06-04-08, 10:18 AM BF2, aside from the bugs and balance problems, was one of my favorite games ever. I hope to one day see a proper BF3, with 64 player battles and everything else. Neither this nor Battlefield: Heroes really scratches the itch (but I will certainly try Heroes). rjsanc30 06-04-08, 10:19 AM See herein lies the problem with every FPS that gets released now.... Will it trump the king (COD4): does it do this, will display in true HD...etc...etc. New FPS's have a lot to live up to and rightfully so, COD4 is the best shooter available today, (it's the most played game I own) but like many I too have become a little bored with it's play; of course that's not to say that it's a boring title, but I know these maps forwards and backwards, I guess I'm just ready for another FPS to augment my COD4 time - lord knows Haze wasn't able to fill that role. BF:BC seems like a solid candidate, the vast destructible maps definitely help further my interest. Game play looks pretty decent but I do agree that the graphics maybe slightly rudimentary in their approach, maybe that's forgivable....maybe not time will tell. Supposedly a demo is being released tomorrow (Jun 5th), so hopefully that will help shed some light on this game - always best to decide from a demo rather than from a video or a review. reefbone 06-04-08, 11:27 AM Reviving teammates is now gone, but enemy armor can be disabled with the engineer's power tool. There are attack helos but no fighter jets like BF2 (much to my personal dismay- bombing buildings to rubble would have been awesome), but the Helos have been toned down some from BF2. Transport helos were not in the beta. I forgot about the reviving of teammates. That was kind of cool and a good stat helper for sure. I aways sucked at flying but really hated the good pilots that seemed to take you out time and time again. I don't think the helos needed to be toned down though. A single missile should take out a tank. One thing that was weak in BF2 was the Vulcan cannon in the Blackhawks. They shot out lead like water out of a fire hose but never seemed to take anyone down. I wonder if the transports are going to be in BC? I also heard there is no commander position which I always thought was cool. Sending up UAV's, dropping supplies, directing squads.. etc. I also liked running behind lines andblowing up the command centers, radars, artillery etc I'm looking forward to the game and hope it give COD4 a run for it's money. instantpop 06-04-08, 01:42 PM I don't think it looks all that bad. 2004 PS2? Might want to plug that PS2 in again. Looks pretty entertaining and I like the wide open gameplay areas, but I think SOCOM is going to be my next big shooter and maybe Metal Gear's online component, although I haven't much cared for MGO in the past. macd23 06-04-08, 03:10 PM Not sure what the OP is talking about, the graphics look solid to me, and the gameplay looks fantastic. COD4 is a good game but people have overhyped it to ridiculous proportions. PJ_Rage 06-04-08, 07:45 PM I actually think it looks pretty good. Might have to give it a try. SLUDGE 06-04-08, 07:49 PM I wish they would just re-release Battlefield 1942 with an updated graphics engine. Mr.Scarface 06-04-08, 09:40 PM I have been playing the demo since Saturday and it's great. The graphics have that "film" look to them (slight grain) and that's on purpose. It sort enhances the feel of the game. It doesn't run at 60fps, but it doesnt need to. The graphics are very detail. If you love BF2 ...u will love this. I have more fun with BF series than COD4 because of the depth of gameplay strategy....with vehicles....etc. The destructable environments are great. The craters created by explosions....the ability to shoot thru fences, doors...etc....is great. When you say demo, do you mean for XBLIVE or PSN or both? rjsanc30 06-04-08, 10:38 PM When you say demo, do you mean for XBLIVE or PSN or both? Looking to spend some quality time with Bad Company? You're in luck - the folks over at DICE have revealed that a demo of their highly-destructible First Person Shooter, Battlefield: Bad Company, will be arriving on PSN June 5. If it's to be believed....BF: BC will be available tomorrow via PSN. Will it be through Qore, who knows. Not sure about XBLIVE?? Hope this helps. gamble1177 06-05-08, 03:40 AM yeah it looks pretty good graphicaly to me as well. have had this one preordered for a while video makes me want it now.. |
