My wife purchased Dance Dance Revolution - Disney Edition for my daughter's birthday. In case you don't know, it is a PS2 game. We gave it to her on her birthday and then learned that it doesn't connect directly. Not a big deal, we bought a connector off the web to convert from the PS2 controller plug to the PS3.

With the use of the controller, the pad works. The PS3 will respond to the inputs of the dance pad. However, the game doesn't work. When you try to play something, it goes through a demo/instruction and then it tries to load the game you selected. It seems to have some issue getting to the actual game you chose and instead brings you back to the initial/main screen. We can't get it to play any games.

I called the manufacturer and the CSR let fly with a series of excuses before I even told him the problem. Designed for a PS2, not a PS3....not all PS3's can play PS2 games, the converters aren't made by us..... This is not the issue. The converter works and the PS3 that I have is a launch version that plays PS2 games.

He did provide me with some useful info. He said that he believes the problem may be that the game does not load properly if it detects a memory card when it does the initial install. I guess on a PS2, you would unplug the memory card. The problem is that I don't know how to unplug the virtual card.

My son has some games saved on the virtual PS2 and PS1 memory cards. These virtual cards show up on every player's account. I don't really want to delete all of his games in order to see if this theory works.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? My daughter and I would appreciate it. Thanks!

There are some nice resources directly from SCEA that you should check first. That way, you may be able to get an answer quickly. The Knowledge Base (http://playstation.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/playstation.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?p_sid=5yehfLQi&p_lva=&p_li=&p_accessibility=0&p_page=1&p_cv=&p_pv=1.4&p_prods=4&p_cats=%20&p_hidden_prods=&prod_lvl1=4&cat_lvl1=%20&p_search_text=&p_new_search=1), and the Online User's Manual (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/index.html).

To answer your question, you "remove" a memory card the same way you would "insert" one, by assigning it to a slot. Or, in your case, removing it from a slot. This can be done on the PS3's XMB (through the memory card portion under Game), or through the options available when you press the PS button (on your controller) while in a game. The Online Manual covers assigning slots here (http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/game/2savedata.html).

Thanks for your help. I did try to find the answer on my own. Looks like I should have seen it on my XMB. I looked, but didn't see it.....and on-line, which I searched and didn't find it....

Don't know how I missed it, but I did. I wouldn't want to post how many hours I have spent trying to get this game working.... Again, thanks.

Be sure you post to let us know whether it worked or not. Been wanting to borrow this game from a friend to try it out.

Unfortunately, "removing" the virtual memory card did not work. The game loads and then notes that there is no PS2 memory card and asks you if you want to proceed anyway. I hit yes and tried to get into a game. No luck. The game still just goes through the introduction/instructions and then says "Loading" and then it goes back to the main menu. I can't get into a game.

I also tried to load the virtual memory card at the point that the game indicates that there is no memory card present. That didn't work either.

I'm out of ideas, but I will do some more searching on the internet. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks!
