My wife purchased Dance Dance Revolution - Disney Edition for my daughter's birthday. In case you don't know, it is a PS2 game. We gave it to her on her birthday and then learned that it doesn't connect directly. Not a big deal, we bought a connector off the web to convert from the PS2 controller plug to the PS3.
With the use of the controller, the pad works. The PS3 will respond to the inputs of the dance pad. However, the game doesn't work. When you try to play something, it goes through a demo/instruction and then it tries to load the game you selected. It seems to have some issue getting to the actual game you chose and instead brings you back to the initial/main screen. We can't get it to play any games.
I called the manufacturer and the CSR let fly with a series of excuses before I even told him the problem. Designed for a PS2, not a PS3....not all PS3's can play PS2 games, the converters aren't made by us..... This is not the issue. The converter works and the PS3 that I have is a launch version that plays PS2 games.
He did provide me with some useful info. He said that he believes the problem may be that the game does not load properly if it detects a memory card when it does the initial install. I guess on a PS2, you would unplug the memory card. The problem is that I don't know how to unplug the virtual card.
My son has some games saved on the virtual PS2 and PS1 memory cards. These virtual cards show up on every player's account. I don't really want to delete all of his games in order to see if this theory works.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? My daughter and I would appreciate it. Thanks!
