I'm looking for the absolute best 24" display for my college dorm room. I will be using this as my computer monitor and also to hook up my Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. I want the display to have HDMI ports on it. I don't care if its a TV or a computer monitor because I am going to use my own speakers and I don't really watch TV. I also want the response time of the display to be very good so that my games aren't laggy. Thanks for your help!

a CRT, if you can find one. The black levels on 24" LCD's are awful compared to larger LCD's, which still do not even compare to plasma, and plasma still does not come that good to CRT. There are a few 24" widescreen CRT computer monitors that would look better than the best plasma ever made, if they made them that small. Also, they support resolutions beyond 1920x1080p so no worries there either.

But CRT is your best bet though.

What are those monitors? Where are they?

Can BD discs be played on them?

I've been using CRT's all my life and really wanna get an LCD. Reason being is because I really don't have space for a CRT in my small ass dorm room. Right now I'm using a 21" CRT monitor for my PC and the back is HUGE! I also have a 32" Samsung HDTV CRT that I use for gaming and while its not too big in the back, its still wayy to big for a dorm room. While the black levels are amazing on CRT, the picture just doesn't look as crisp as on an LCD to me...even after heavy calibration.

I think the FW900 can do deeper blacks vs the Kuro, plus it has the advantage of no native resolution, high refresh rates, and can accept a higher resolution.

But I will admit the Kuro is the better display overall.

In any case, the FW900 is reported to be a excellent display for use with the Xbox360 (Aside from the HD15, it also has BNC inputs so you can use it with a PC at the same time). Try looking on craigslist for one, and make sure you test it out before you buy it (Note: There is also version that is white and is re-badged HP, it's exactly the save save for cosmetics).

I'm using the Sony FW900 while typing this. Awesome display. I found mine on Ebay.

Only concerns:
*It's heavy and bulky (90lbs.)
*No HDMI or DVI connection

There was also talk about the HP Dreamcolor displays coming out soon that will have a lot better colors than typical LCD's.

Is there a way to watch Bluray discs on it?

A couple. But you need to read the HTPC Forum, it's a complex topic. But I have to tell you that DRM is so painfull that I ended up buying both a standalone HD-DVD and a PS3 for Blu-Ray playback. Those were cheaper than the continuous struggle to display the HD media on a PC with an analog display. I would not reccomend the HTPC thing for Blu-Ray unless you have money to burn - and I've been a HTPC user since 1999.
