Well I said I would post my results with the LFM1-EX so here goes :)

First it is packaged REALLY well. Double boxed and the speaker itself is in a cloth bag (nice touch).

I did manage to lose the threaded bolts for the floor spikes, but found them in the bottom of the box. I'm thinking I must have dropped them in there accidentally because everything was sealed up tight so I doubt they could have fallen out on their own.

The speaker itself is very nice looking. Nice black matte finish with a glass top.

There is a manual. Very nice.... I know this may sound strange but... I'll just leave it at ... thanks for the manual.

Went through the auto setp with my Pioneer 92 Elite. It had me set the woofer on 2.5 for volume. I thought, "Man this is going way low."

I popped in Master and Commander on BluRay.

Dimmed the lights and selected the first battle scene "Under Attack."

Ummm... all I can say is holy crap!

I have it set on "Max Output" as I kind of wanted to have that mid-bass jolt as well. And boy does it jolt!

Put it this way...my wife says, "It isn't going to shake the house apart is it?"

I said no :)

But in retrospect... I don't know. Could it damage the house?

I'm guessing no since it's in a 19' x 15' room. But the floor and my chest sure were rumbling hehe.

Anyway, I can whole-heartedly recommend this speaker. Not only did I not have to wait months to get it (got it within five days of my order) but when I did have a question about the speaker the customer service was prompt in answering my email.

Thank you Outlaw :) Now I'm going to have to find all the cool bass scenes to play around with.

Thank you for posting your review of the Outlaw LFM-1 EX. You may know that Sound&Vison magazine called it the "bang for the buck" leader, even at the usual price of $649. At $599 it is an even better value, not to mention something that put a big smile on your face.

Since you asked about damaging the house. I know of true stories but they involve really elaborate set-ups. In one case a garage door came off its track. In another case sediment from old water pipes was dislodged...

These kinds of things almost always involve systems that can deliver 125 db and up.

Enjoy all of the cool bass scenes you can pull together.

PS In the most extreme cases, walls have been known to flex. Price of entry to this level is $20,000.

A sledgehammer is much cheaper if you want to do some structural damage :D

Welcome to the club. I hate that sub because my neighbor to the left has one and my house it always rocking from it. But I end up paying him back with mine :)

My neighbor to the right hates us both.
