Hello,

I am new to projectors. I can pick this up used for about $250. The lamp light is about half up. There isn't any known issues with this. I would like to use this for both a media room and potentially outside for movie watching. Is this projector junk? It says that it can do HDTV at both 4:3, and 16:9. Anyone know the + and -'s.

Thanks.

Native: SVGA 800x600

I would pass. You can find much better units to use for a home theater.

So I am assuming that the higher that native resolution the less scaling?

Sorry - I was in a rush and didn't embelish. Everything you send to the projector will be downscaled to 800x600. This is a business projector. The image will not look very good when watching DVD's, HD cable, etc.

I would look for a native 720p projector. If you're willing to buy a used on you should be able to get one for pretty cheap and you'll be much happier with even a very low end 720p PJ than the CPS335W.
