I just did some more looking, on your behalf.

The TSI line is NOT a replacement for the Monitor line. It sounds like the TSI line will be, perhaps, a Best Buy exclusive. When I look at the specs I think the TSI line is pretty much the same as the Monitor line with a few small tweaks. The cabinet is a little different, the crossover has been tweaked (at least comparing the TSI 300 to the Monitor 50), the TSI digs a little deeper (perhaps5-10 dB lower).

So consider it the monitor speaker tweaked all around. I wouldn't plan on more than a 5% improvement over the equivalent monitor speaker though.

Feel free to browse the Polkaudio.com forums and you might find more info.

This is just one man's wild ass guess too. I haven't seen anyone who's done a side by side comparison of the two speakers yet.

Here is my problem with lower end / budget 'exclusive' items – Nine times out if ten they take a decent product and modify it to be easier to sell. And easier to sell doesn't necessarily mean better. In this case the TSI playing a bit lower probably won't mean much if you are using a sub. It probably just means it will sound better in the store, where it probably won't be hooked to a sub.

Personally I would go with a tried and true Monitor 50 over something new like this, until at least this TSI gets some reviews and feedback.
