I've searched for answers to this, but came up dry.

I am interested in the Avion line from BDI for housing my home theater. From what I've read here, this appears to be high quality stuff, liked by everyone who gets it.

My questions:

[1] So, are the glass doors really IR friendly?

[2] I like the idea of getting the flat panel mount option. The two mounting "tubes" appear to come out of the top (as opposed to being mounted off of the back. If you order the optional mounting kit, how do the "tubes" get mounted through the top?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks!

You can fit your whole theater in one of their racks?

Yes they are IR friendly and the polls go through holes in the top and rest on the bottom panel.

Thanks!

But since the monitor mount is an option, purchased separately from the main "unit", is the top pre-drilled for those poles, or does a different unit ship when you also order the flat-panel mount. A minor issue -- I'm just curious.

Thanks for your help!

The top does come with the holes no matter what you order it with. It is designed so that is you are not using the 8540-1 mount the holes and grommet covers function as wire management.
