It looks like my trusty 1270q started to show symptoms of old age :(. I was watching HDTV and suddenly whole picture became a weird color, kind of purple. I thought one of the tube finally died. So I checked the tube but all tubes have light. I was puzzled for a moment, but found out that the image on green was missing. What failed in my 1270? How should I check?

It's most likely the CA(G) board. Do the test patterns work on the green tube?

No. There is no test pattern on green. Only on Blue and Red. Where is CA(G) board?

Curt. I checked the green tube more closely and there are images but it is quite faint. After searching archives, indeed it looks like a problem on CA(RG) board (VPH05 chip?). Thanks.
