Am I missing something here? The manual really doesn't say anything about this feature. I'm trying to get my AE900U to automatically pick up what signal is being put through it at any given time and switch to that source automatically. Sounds like the auto search feature! Even in the manual with the brief description it gives, this sounds right and everything I've ever used with "auto search" does just this. Even my old Infocus SP4800 had no problems.

My AE900U REFUSES to do this. I've turned the setting on and let's say I manually switch the source to S-VIDEO (nothing is hooked into S-VIDEO at the moment) but I turn my XBOX 360 on and it's hooked up to my Component 2 input. It will just sit and wait and do nothing until I manually switch over to the Component 2 input. Why the #$%@ isn't it doing it automatically?? Any ideas?

Try not setting it manually for anything. Just turn the projector on and send it a source and see if it picks it up. If it does then turn that source off and send it another source and see if it switches over. Could a forced manual source switch take it out of automatic?

Well, it stays locked on whatever the last source you selected is. So say my 360 is in component 2 and my Wii is in component 1. If I am on component 1 and do nothing more than turn my 360 off and turn the Wii on, I get nothing but the blue screen until I hit the button and manually switch it to component 1.

I checked and double checked and it says the auto search feature is enabled, but still nothing is happening.

Since you are using component it is not an HDMI issue. Sounds like it is the projector. I would email customer support.

The Panasonic 900 with firmware version 1.01 does not auto search. Why?

Because they assume everyone today has a receiver to do the switching.;)

Soooo....it's a firmware issue? I'll do some digging and see what I come up with. If anybody knows what firmware version I need, please let me know!

The 900 will have no available changes. The projector is already 2 models back of the current 200. Hate to give the bad news.
