OK, so I got some calibration numbers for my new LG LCD and it is looking much better in a dark room, but it fades a bit when the room is brighter. What areas do I boost for a lighter room? I will just set up a new User profile for a lighter room. Is it brightness? Backlight?

greetings
Mostly back light ... but likely a few clicks up on the brightness too.
Should just use even a free test disc stuff like the THX optimode found on any THX brand disc. It will be better than copying other people's numbers and it only takes a few minutes to better results.

Thanks, that worked well!
I got a variety of calibration settings from threads here on this forum and used that as a starting point, which looked pretty good in a dark room. I had gotten the DVD Essentials, but for some reason, it did not seem to help much. Most likely, I was just not using it correctly! The settings I got here were much more useful, and now I have a feel for how to tweak it from there.
Thanks again!
