Hi,

I am considering replacing some of the capacitors on the SMPS board (R76217055) because of convergence stability problems. I figured out some of the caps but not all of them : 6 x 1000microF 40V and 4 x 2200microF 16V.
They are the orange ones. But what about the 3 big black ones (from Germany apparently). I cannot see any clear indication on them.
Has someone change these caps before ? Do you know by which ones I need to replace them ? Any particular features I forgot ? I don't know what ESR is among them ?
Thanks for your help.

c200, c201 and c208 are 47uF 350V.

Chance also 100uF caps from primary circuit to 105c, it's mentioned in one service bulletin...

Thanks Ile. Did you replace them yourself ?
Can I replace all of them by any electrolytic caps with these values and 105C. What about ESR and that they look metallic ? Is it relevant ?

I didn't chanced those 350V caps in my 801s and in my 808s I have chanced only those that are mentioned in service bulletings.

Check that new caps are meant for switching power supplies, like Sanyo MV-AX series.

Keeping projector in stb might also help to raster movement, for some weird reason that I can't understand.:) Deflection circuit and tubes are completely turned off during stb, so it's pretty hard to say why projector stabilizes little faster after stb than power switch pressed...

Glueing deflection yokes plastic edge to tube bell might be something to try, after that you can be sure that problem is not mechanical yoke movement during warmup. Also retighten tube tilting bolts and etc.

Hsift board caps might also have effect to raster horizontal stability. Board runs very hot and it use universal 85 deg caps.
