Sorry if I am asking a dumb question, but I read Verizon is opening up the USB port on the front of the DVR's to allow you to save/download programs recorded on the DVR to your computer. Apparently there was some modification and to the Digital Millenium act that allows for personal use off of the DVR? ie, watching on a computer, etc.

SO. does anyone know if that is true about VZ opening the USB port? and does anyone know how to save recorded programs onto a pc? I have tried the hardware/software combo called VHS to DVD from honestech but that doesn't work.

I think you're confused. The DMCA requires MSO support an IEEE 1394 port, not USB.
