Ok well here's the deal, my old not even worth $100s now speaker system just went out and I need some new speakers. I'm the kinda guy who usually buys stuff on the spot and kinda regrets it later. So I'm looking at this (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=999988800050000&type=product&id=pcmprd88900050000) right now but I have that hunch that in a couple weeks/months that I'm gonna regret it. I'm 16 years old don't need a dang $5,000 Home Theater System in my room (plus my rents would probably kick me out because of the level i would play my music at). So does anyone have any sugg for the amount of space i have? I can spend up to 2k but id rather keep it under 1500. lil messy but what other teenager's room isn't :)
Heres some pics or my room

Is selling drugs at school one of your other hobbies?

Seriously though, I would suggest you could save some green and buy a much more affordable HTIB for arguably comparable sound in a room such as yours. But then saving $$$ doesn't appear to be your M.O.

I'm not familiar with that Yamaha receiver, but Klipsch Quintets are very nice for the money. I wouldn't put them in a HT, but they're great for other rooms. I've had a set in my living room for about 8 years and still love them.

Just spend a couple of hours reading in the receiver forum and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Killer set up for 16yr old. The Quintet's would fit nice in that room. Yamaha have a good rep for their receivers. I would look at Onkyo receivers though, Good amount of HDMI connections and next generation codecs.

possibly this (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Onkyo-TX-SR606-7-1-Channel-Home-Theater-Receiver-Black-TXSR606/sem/rpsm/oid/208513/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do?linkid=j13459594k3787&affiliateid=k3787&mid=FW6rwazt) and then if i use a coupon code i can get it for 50 off i think

There you go, I recently installed one of the prior model units (the 605) for a friend and it was pretty straightfoward. Works great and has a mic for the speaker setup. Goes through a set tests and measurements seems to do a very good job of it. Good luck.
