I got another call from D* yesterday...

Now they tell me the new HD receiver is free and there is NO commitment...

I asked about about upgrading to a DVR...

I can do the SD DVR (which I hope still means an HD receiver/output) for the cost of shipping... $21.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me...

But is there such a thing as a HD receiver with SD DVR?

I also really want to still be able to have a receiver with the ATSC decoder, so if I'm getting fade, I can still do digital OTA.

Is there such a thing?
