Can anyone tell me what the fidelity measurement is for audio streamed over the internet and played through Windows Media Player? How does it compare (bits/sec or whatever) with CD or MP3 formats?

There is no standard for music streamed over the Internet. Some will sound ok...some bad.

Right-click on WMP while its streaming and select "properties". You can see the current bit rate. In general. CD's sound better than MP3's, which sound better than typical streamed content.
