So, I currently have and have had an MFW-15 on order for some time now, and the ETA is drawing near (LOL like 2 months) but near enough that I'm beginning to wonder...

First off, when I put the order for the MFW, it was shortly after receiving my Rocket 850s and Bigfoot center. Off the bat and still, I love these speakers. However, at the time, I quite underestimated the amount of movie watching I do compared to listening to music. Now that I realize I easily spend 80% of my time watching movies, I'm wondering if I would benefit significantly from getting an Epik Castle or Tower instead. I've heard multiple sources state that these subs are great and possibly better than the MFW-15 for those really low frequencies you get with LFE.

So what say you guys? Anyone have experience with both and care to try to put it into words the differences between these two speakers and (I know this is very difficult to do over the internet) if you could give you opinion on if the Epiks are worth the near 100% price increase.

Last thing. Sorry to make another "this or this" thread. I'm sure they can get annoying. Regardless, this is a subwoofer forum. What do you expect. ;)

I say yes, get one of the Epiks, how big is your room, you sure you can't fit a conquest in there? :)

Size of the room is a very signifigant issue.

The MFW-15 is very good for HT but there is a very small amount of material that would benefit from the EPICs ability to go lower.

Stupid of me or not, I left out room size on purpose because I was hoping for generalized responses. But, since you guys asked, sure. The room size is 26x15x11.5 (vaulted ceiling so just an approximate average height), so about 4500 cubic feet. Along the length near one of the corners, it is completely open to a kitchen, approximately 1500 cubic feet.

Another reason that I didn't want to mention room size is that it will be changing fairly soon. I'm currently renting.

In this case, I would recommend an epik conquest, eD a7-450, or dual MFW-15's.

That is a big room- especially with being open to a kitchen.

Please remember that the OP is moving. I wouid guess that his new space is not going to be as big.

His posts do not suggest that he is in the market for anything as large or as expensive as an Epik Conquest.

Don't get me wrong. If the OP is willing to spend ~$2,000, the Epik Conquest would be a great choice.

Maybe the OP will tell us how large his new listening room is going to be.

Do you have FR graphs or even stats on each, in half space?
