View Full Version : Second Svs 12sb-plus
Hi...recently I purchased a pb12-nsd ...loved it!!! but it is just to big for the room ( WAF) so I returned it and got the sb12-plus..again very nice sub not as powerful down low as the pb12-nsd, but I knew that before I got it,thanks in part to previous emails with svs.
My question is. what kind of improvement can I expect if I purchase a second sb12-plus....they will be on either side of my main left/right speakers, not stacked. The room is 12x18x8,one sub will be in a corner the other by an opening to the hallway. 50/50 ht/music
Thanks in Advance
mojomike 06-08-08, 12:30 PM The sound will be more powerful overall with greater headroom. That will result in cleaner sound at higher volume. It will be more evenly distributed throughout the room with less of a need to sit in the "sweet spot" for good bass. If you wanted to, you could get away with raising your crossover point with less likelihood for localization. You are not likely, however, to get any improvement in depth but the subs will be able to do what they do with less strain than with only one.
Thank you for the reply mojo thats exactly what I was hoping to hear, price wise not the best bang for my buck , but who says the WAF would be cheap...lol

These are WAF friendly subwoofers, I think they should be labeled under their own heading on SVS's website, Box Subwoofers --> Cylinder Subwoofers --> WAF Subwoofers --> (If you are married and plan on staying that way please go right to the WAF Subwoofer section).
That would have made my purchase simpler :)

Wouldn't be worth the effort. WAF combines as much or more criteria as we do, just different and will vary on an individual basis. Trying to lump that in a specific section would be a waste of time.

I don't know, as small as possible or camouflauged seems to be the rule, preferably both.
LOL....its almost fathers day,so we compromised and got the smaller foot print 20-39PC-Plus ......

It's a great sub, but nothing stands out in a room like a tube. Find a corner and put a plant in front of it :D. I owned one and put it in a corner behind my rig. It was unobtrusive, except when I looked at it :D

Good choice, maybe another category needs to be added. FAF.

Yup,she saw it ...looked at me and said "we dont have a cat"!...The compromised was the sub would riside behind a room divider....I can live with that...(like I had a choice lol)
