Does anyone make a tv stand that is able to support up to a 50" lcd tv that is a minimum of 36" in total height and includes a shelf for a center channel speaker that is at least 26" wide? Optionally a couple of extra shelves for electronic components but that isn't a necessity.

I've checked a lot of different manufacturers like Bello or Sauder or Ameriwood...most all of them are geared toward the overall stand height being not much more than 24".

3 feet tall is pretty tall for a mass-produced TV stand.

You might want to look at other kinds of furniture or modify something for your purpose.

I was never happy with the pre-made stuff, so I went a different route. Have you considered Salamander products? They're almost completely configurable. Here's a link (http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/archetype/gal_wall.jsp) to their wall units.

I used two Archetype audio racks along with four of their Bridge Twos to create the exact stand I was looking for (but could never find). The result is a 36" tall platform for my TV, a spot directly under it for the center channel speaker, and enough spots to hold all my other gear. The open-nature of the stands are also great for ventilation (but not so great for dust control).

Thanks for the link. The Synergy line is exactly what I was looking for, but the price is rather high. I assume you purchased yours from a local dealer? Were they pricing them at MSRP, same as on the website? I can't really locate any internet dealer who seems to stock the exact model I want.

I couldn't find any local dealers, so I went with Audio Advisor, building exactly what I wanted over time, as pieces went on sale. Over a 2-4 year period, I got everything I wanted, and I'm guessing it was 30-50% off list prices. There were a few compromises involved (had to stick with basic black), but I'm extremely happy with the result.

I want to say thanks to everyone who helped me find a good stand for my future tv. I have a Salamander Synergy set on order from audio-direct. Their price saved me about $35...not much, but it was the best I could locate including asking for quotes from my local dealers!

Heck, the local dealers were worse even. I swear from their responses I couldn't tell if I was asking for a quote on a piece of furniture, or a used car!
