This is kind of off topic but i don't know where else to ask this. I have my MFW-15 on its way which i am very happy about. Now i need to sell my mirage s12 which is in mint condition the problem being is that the box for the mirage was in my basement and my basement just got water damage when the power went out (sump quit running). The box is intact but way way to weak to be able to ship the sub. How would i go about getting a shipping box to ship the sub. It seems like i would be like searching for a needle in a haystack to be able to find a box of this size that would work at a store. Could anyone please give me some advice on what to do?
thanks,

1) Measure the sub.
2) Buy a box that is big enough and leaves you a few inches extra in each dimension at a "Mailboxes Etc.", "FedEx", "U-Haul", or wherever. Double-boxing is useful as well. So buy a smaller box that you can nest in a bigger box.
3) You may also want to buy some styrofoam "packing peanuts", bubble wrap, etc., when you get the box, if they are available there. You can get that sort of stuff any number of places. You can pack in newspaper, too. U-Haul sells newsprint. Or use any combination of those materials. If you double-box, you can stuff the space between the boxes tightly with newsprint or newspaper.

Thanks i didn't know you could buy boxes like that at fedex. I'll go checking around tomorrow for a box. Hopefully i will be able to find a box the same size as the one i have.

NcageSee my edits in that post, too.
FedEx may not be the best place, btw. You could also try UPS. But places like "Mailboxes, Etc." sell all sorts of sizes of boxes. U-Haul has a few sizes to choose from, too. All these places will sell bubble wrap and newsprint and stuff like that. TARGET also sells bubble wrap. It can be expensive. Newspaper/newsprint works great if you pack it really tight. I'd highly recommend double-boxing if you can find nestable boxes that are the right sizes for the sub.

Ya unfortunatly we don't have any mailboxes ect in my town :(. I thought we used to but we don't have one anymore. I still have the corner thingies (for lack of better terms) from the original box so i will still be able to use them. The most expensive thing would be of course thing would be not to sell this sub since its in mint condition. Hopefully i should get $300 or a little more for it.
Once you have tested out the MFW-15 to make sure it works correctly I would use some of their packing material for the inside of whatever box you buy.
Make sure the box you buy is rated enough to cover the weight. You want something with at least a 100lb burst rate.
Fedex ground is likely your best option for shipping. Use their online calculator and make sure you don't go too big on the box - otherwise shipping costs will go WAAAY up.

You might want to just call fedex, ups or who ever you're using to ship it and see how much they would charge to pack it for you. Then just take it to them and you're done. Sometimes, by the time you buy a box, or 2 if double boxing which I would HIGHLY recommend if doing it yourself and then packing materials, gas going to find this stuff and then the time actually packing it properly, you might find it's worth it to let them do it. Then in the event damage occurs during shipment they have no one to blame but themselves, they can't deny the claim for any reason because they packed it.
I've found it sometimes is a better way to go letting them do it if you don't have the box/s and packing material already.
I had a computer monitor (the old CRT style) that I shipped several years ago. I followed guidelines to the T, it was packed to spec and even further. Well it was damaged and the claim was denied due to packing which was BS but what could I do (nothing) at that point besides argue with them and that didn't help. So now I alway check their rates for packing heavy bulk items.
