I've got a power outlet that my wall-mounted lcd will plug into. Needless to see, I'll need a surge protector for that outlet and the typical plug-in multi-outlet strips won't do. I was going to stop by a local big box retailer (i.e. Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, etc.) to see what I can find. Anybody have any experience with these type of surge protectors?

when i worked at a home theater store we had these low profile surge protectors from monster. yeah i dont like monster but they worked well.

In our Lowes, they have outlets that are surge protected. That would be about as low profile as they come.

There is also an addition to your power box that can surge protect all circuits on that power box too. You can see those at Home Depot too. You would want an electrician to install that if you don't know what you are doing.
