First post - I want to thank all of the members for the wealth of information. You have really helped me with all of my questions in the past with your informative posts.

I have 2 HDTV's the first is a mitsu LT-46148 and I just got a 60" SXRD KDS-60A2020. The mitsu only allows you to select inputs that are plugged in whereas I had to "skip" all of the inputs other than the 2 HDMI's (input 6 - cable and input 7 - PS3) that I am using. But when I change inputs I have input 6,7 and cable. I don't see anywhere that I can skip cable and it is driving me nuts because there is snow and 0 analog and 0 digital channels programmed.

Is there a way to disable the cable input?

No I don't think you can't skip cable like the other inputs. The TV does have direct input selection, but it doesn't appear on the original remote. A harmony remote would allow you to choose the input without scrolling through.

I have sony discrete input codes for radio shack and one-for-all remotes if you need them. You could also pick ant. instead of cable and at least get a black screen when you cycle through.
