I used the Buy It Now option on Ebay to purchase a brand new, sealed in the box Logitech Harmony 890 remote for $229.98. That price included the shipping. I bought it on May 22nd and here it is June 9th and I have not received it as of yet. The person's name is Elizabeth Morgan but she goes by the user name of: LIZZIEFLIER on ebay. Normally after winning an item on Ebay you would hear from the seller in the form of a email. I heard nothing. I paid through PayPal. So Monday June 2nd, I opened a dispute, hoping that will work and as of yet that is not even working. My next step is to file some sort of policy complaint that is offered through PayPal by the 22nd of the month.

When I went to leave negative feedback for the seller, I noticed about 15 or so other people that had the same thing happened to them so I just wanted to let you all know about this person and the scam they are running! Hopefully I can get my money back but we'll see!

didn't you look at the feedback first? Research on your potential seller is very important.

Honestly, it serves you right. There are plenty of dealers and sponsors on this forum that are reputable and honest that you should have trusted before going to ebay.

That price is about $20-25 over dealer cost. I understand wanting to get a good deal, but you can't or should not expect to get outstanding service from someone making less than 10% profit on a remote.

Good luck with your dispute, and I hope you look at this as a $229 learning expierence. Bet you would have hapily paid $299 right about now, eh?

Once the dispute is escalated and the seller does not show any tracking info then he should get his money back... Hang in there...

Not to defend the seller, but it looks like she had stellar feedback up until recently. It's not impossible that something terrible has befallen her, like an accident, illness, or even dying.

yes I did consider that too Jim. I am still getting my room together anyway so its not like I have to have the remote right this moment anyway. But when you pay for someone you expect to have it in a timely fashion. As for the comment about buying from some of the dealers and sponsors on this site...I have bought all my cables from one of them and other stuff from other companies that are on here. I just happened to be on ebay for something else and when I came across that remote I thought it was a good deal since I missed the auction where a Logitech Harmony 890 brand new sealed in the box went for $177!

Chuck,

To some degree, I was actually defending you. When you purchased the item, her feedback was probably perfect. So you could not possibly have known that you weren't going to get the items. Although Thew750 makes a good point that dealing with the forum sponsors is generally a good idea, I've done business with ebay sellers dozens of times and never had a problem. The vast majority of sellers are honest. I have a feeling that LIZZIEFLIER was honest too, but something obviously went wrong.
