Set is out of warranty. wetcat 06-11-08, 12:12 AM My hdmi went out and they had to replace the whole board. I think the estimate was something like $800. That might be higher because it was under warranty but thats still almost as much as I paid for the set. Bronco-Fan 06-11-08, 12:21 AM Do you know the part no. for the board they replaced???? jwebb1970 06-12-08, 10:50 AM To both of you.... Came across this post at the right time, perhaps.... I own a 51F59 & am 1 of the several F59 folks who have harrased Hitachi regarding the issue of "image shift" on the F59's HDMI input. Now it seems that they have a potential fix for this & it involves installing a new, modified signal block assembly. My set will shortly be set up as a test subject thru Hitachi Engineering to see if what they see in the lab is the same in the wild. If so, I imagine they will swap out the assemblies for anyone that has complained about the HDMI image shift. And I would assume that everyone would get this for free, warranty expiried or not (should be on Hit's dime, it was their error to fix from the get go). Basically, if we are talking the same part(s)....you might get your wish free of charge. If you haven't yet, contact Hitachi regarding the HDMI image shift.....and see the thread dedicated to this very subject (can be found here on the RPTV threads--I posted this info there yesterday). The proper phone #'s are listed in that thread. |
