Ok I search throught the forums to find Calibration codes.

I found some. But some of them have the user go into the Service Menu.
I have seen many warning about this.
I am not not ask how to get into it at this time, but with the posted number will I see good results?

How important is it to get into the service Menu to make a few tweaks when you have the values you want in the begining?

Also is doing with only 10 hours on the TV ok?
or should I wait for 100 to 200 hours?

i do not want to mess up my new TV. but I want a better picture than what is has out of the box.

Standard:
picture: +79
brightness: +63
color: +41
Tint: +4
Sharpness: +60
color temp: normal
colormanagement: off

Service Menu Settings

R drive D9
G drive:FC
B drive:AD
R cut: 84
G cut: 80
B cut: 80

Cinema:

Picture: +74
Brightness: +60
Color: +34

Sharpness: +50
Colortemp: warm
Colormanagement: Off

Service menu settings:

R drive: d3
G drive: fc
B drive: A2
R cut: 87
G Cut: 80
B cut: 87

I also found these numbers

Standard:
picture: +85
brightness: +63
color: +47
Tint: +0
Sharpness: +61
color temp: normal
colormanagement: off
CATS off
Video NR off
Black lvl Light
HD size 1

Are these better to start with...

I have access to the Spider tool. Froma friend who bought it.
But before he drive down I just wanted to see how well it could be tuned.

I also want this thing to stop putting out so Much HEAT...
Best buy said for $300 they could do this but come on $300 is a bit to much for me to spend after having to save up for 1 year to buy this. i am not the wealthy by any means.. i save till I can pay cah for items...

So any help would be great.

if this has been asked before and an anwer given i am sorry i did not find it.

Cooler? I'm not sure if you mean "cooler" as in the actual picture or the heat coming out the back but.....dialing down those brightness/color/contrast settings should go a long way towards that goal. There are people in this sub-forum that are far far more qualified than me to offer advice...but those settings you posted seem too high to me.

Thanks Joe..

For cooler I do mean the Temp coming off the screen it self.

ok if i was smart and serached a bit longer in this HUGE forum i would had found this.
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1019763

and this thread would not be here....

I feel bad when I do this... i wanted the easy anwer, but if I had searched more.
Or if the Search engine was smarter i would had found this.

Sorry I know googole is huge, but there search Engine is bad. They just got so big no one complains. but searching for something very specific should not bring back 10,0000,000,000 results..

I don't recommend playing around in the service menu. Using someone elses results rarely result in a more pleasing image. There are many factors at play that could make your picture not enjoyable to watch...

...without proper instrumentation, I'd leave it in the cinema setting for now. If you get the Spider from your friend, it's a start but not the end.

whitedevil--you can find a link to service menu access codes at the very top of this forum (Bruzzi's codes).

As a point of instruction, it is generally considered in poor taste in internet forums to post three separate messages in all caps within the span of about a minute--especially demanding that others respond to your question. Give people time to respond. In a similar vein, posting in a thread that is two years old is not of great value either and is generally considered in poor taste.

I would caution you in accessing the service menu. You will need to take some time to learn about what the various controls do, and what exactly you hope to accomplish in the service menu. As mentioned above, you can really screw up your TV if you impatiently and aimlessly change settings. Good luck.
