Also, is 6FT too long to link a PS3 with a samsung LN40a550??? Am i going to lose signal strength? If so, id have to go with 3ft, but im not sure if it would be long enough :(

The silver-plated copper will have slightly lower losses but that's only important for long runs.

You should be able to use just about any cable for 6 feet. Normally HDMI is good to at least 30 feet with good cables.

i have a problem! which is best: hdmi to hdmi connection or hdmi to dvi connection? also, can i connect directly to an xbox with only the hdmi to hdmi connection without using all those plenty cables that comes with the xbox?

HDMI on 360 is only on the elite, and yes you don't need those other connections, as long as you have a 360 Elite and an HDMI monitor/tv/projector etc.
