Hello, I am looking for the best (crate, ...) and cheapest way to ship a marquee 8500 Ultra continental US. Any tips?

well the Trebuchet is interesting but you would need some some of those Mars Rover landing ballons to cushion the re-entry.
Shipping crates padded on top/bottom and sides are best but very expensive. I recently got a quote from a company for $500. to crate a PJ. I wound up paying about $250. to have it foamed in place in a very heavy cardboard box and that worked out great.
If you want to build your own crate you need a pallet, 2 sheets of 5/8 CDX Plywood, a couple of 2 x 4's for the cleats /side rails, a skill saw, and a box of 2" drywall screws. It takes me about 4 hours to crate a Marquee and it's not fun.

You'd probably want to redo the mechanical setup afterward, too.
