How is the Master of Horror series on BR?? Just curious thinking about getting them since they are 2 for $25 at BB

I have all four of the volumes, the picture quality is pretty good across all of them, but the biggest thing is the stories themselves. The quality varies intensly, some are very good, others were just thrown together to get something out there. My personal favorites are the ones done by John Carpenter and Takashi Miike. John Carpenter's is the first story on Vol. 1, and Miike's wasn't aired but is on Vol. 4. It doesn't seem like the series is as cheesy as Tales From The Crypt was, although that wasn't necessarily a bad thing ;)

season 2 (the ones i've seen so far) have have been consistently better too bad they haven't released them on bluray

The only other thing that I forgot to mention is that they come with NO special features. On the dvd's they had special features, here, you only get the episodes.

I think they're great...some episodes are better than others but each volume has something worthwhile on it. I have all four volumes and my favorite eps are..

Incident on and off a mountain road
Deer woman (simply because the chick is smokin hot:cool: )
Jenifer (freaky as hell)

I rented the standard dvd from Netflix a while back and remember them not looking good at all and the stories were so bad that I was put off on wasting anymore time with them. I'm sure I missed a gem in there somewhere but it's hard to do anything new, shocking or original in the horror genre and from what I saw, Masters of Horror are no exceptions. It doesn't matter who the director is.

I have been pleasantly suprised by these. I bought them sight unseen on the recommendation of a friend. The picture quality has been quite good, stories are hit and miss. Cigarette burns, and Jenifer from vol1 and vol2 are genuinely disturbing, great horror. Some of the others are ok, some are not. Getting them for a good price from various sales online I don't feel bad if all the episodes are not great.

They can be hit or miss - some episodes are really quite good and some are just plain awful. You probably should've done what I did and bought them when they were on sale at Deepdiscount. Got all four for $36.44

It isn't true that the Blu-rays are totally bare bones; some of the features from the DVDs were indeed dropped but all the Blu-rays retain audio commentaries.

Where are Season 2 Blus?

Hey guys, thanks for the heads up on 2 for $25 at BB. I had ordered the first two (season 1, vol I and II) from Amazon when they were on sale and enjoyed them a lot. Now I'm jonesin' for the other two and was holding off for a decent price.

Neat series. Some episodes are better than others but I've enjoyed watching them all so far.

Where are Season 2 Blus?Yeah, there aren't any extras other than the commentary. Kinda disappointing for some of the episodes where I would have liked some background on some of the actors. (most of which are unknowns to me)
