hello all:

I currently have a cheaper LCD tv stand that can rotate, with 2 glass shelves below it, My daughter is getting to where she wants to poke buttons and such on my AV equpment, i am now in the process of trying to find a replacement for it that now has doors to house my equpment as well as a rotating top stand or even just a stand period, the catch to this is that i am not looking to spend an arm and a leg on it, have found some but they are 500-1000+ any help would be good, or if anybody thinks this could be made at a good price,

Nothing that rotates, but heres what we ended up with:

"Real" furniture -- it'll hold all the electronics, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. Some cooling will be required, and I'll have to deal with the remotes.

This was < $400 at the local furniture warehouse place and it's very heavy duty. If you have one of these furniture "superstores" nearby, it's worth a trip to see what's available.

This place: http://www.homedecorators.com/ has "some assembly required" furniture that we've been pleased with. They have an assortment of glass-fronted "low-boy" designs that are appropriate for a display stand. We use this one with a granite top:http://www.homedecorators.com/P/Craftsman_Two_Glass-Door_Lowboy_with_Granite_Top/110/

I drilled largish holes in the back panel for cables.

A good budget choice indeed.

We shopped stands long and hard and what you are looking for is tough to find under $500 but it can be done.

Here are some of the cheaper units with doors my GF had bookmarked

Techcraft has a bunch and their quality is nice for the price:

as far as rotating top goes, I would find the stand first then look into adding a swivel.
