I need your help. I am looking to upgrade my HT. I already have the LCD, I have PS3 for games and Blu-ray, and Xbox 360 HD-DVD, I am looking at the ONKYO TX-SR705 or Denon AVR-2808 as a new reciever. The speakers I currently have is the BOSE AM-15. I now know after looking on this site that the BOSE system is no good. I had no idea that BOSE was so bad... that is all I have ever had growing up and when I moved out I bought the AM-15. I was just so used to them. Upon reading all the posts about how bad they are I want to upgrade them ASAP. Can anyone recommend a good sounding system for about $1,500. I think that is what I will be able to talk my wife into.

Thank you all for your help

$1500 for a pair or for a full 5.1 setup? May be even including reciever and all?

The $1,500 is for speakers only. I would like at least 5.1 up to 7.1.

Internet Direct (ID) guys are going to give you the best bang for your buck as many on here will tell you.

Some names to check out include:

Elemental Designs
AV123
Axiom
Aperion
SVS
HSU

For your budget though, I can recommend the exact same system I got from Elemental Designs. I am incredibly happy with it and would be willing to answer any questions you may have.

A6-6T6 Towers (fronts)
A6-6T6 MTM (center)
2x A6-6T6 MTM's (surrounds)
A5-350 Subwoofer w/ LT/550 amp upgrade

Using their package builder, it comes out to around $1500. You can even get a slightly smaller subwoofer instead and save some more moolah (but that A5-350 is a beast!).
